LIFE AT THE FORT

Most of a soldier's life in AD 200 was spent at the fortress, or at some other assignment, at a watchtower or office within a city. Wars were infrequent. 


Use the tabs to look at typical barrack arrangements, meals and methods of worship. The final tab shows what kind of equipment a legionary carries on his back during long marches to war, or when on deployment to some new territory.
